Enable OS proxy
You can enable the OS proxy from the server console or endpoint.
OS proxy is available with the agent version 20.0.0-3530 or later on Windows and 20.0.0-167 or later on macOS.
Enable OS proxy on the server console
You can enable OS proxy from the server console:
-
Log in to the Trend Cloud One - Endpoint & Workload Security console.
-
Click Administration, and then select System Settings on the left.
- Go to Proxies > Proxy Server Use.
- Set the option Allow agents to apply OS proxy when the configured proxy is inaccessible to Yes.
For more information, see Proxy server use.
Enable OS proxy from the endpoint
You can also enable OS proxy from the endpoint. This is useful if the agent loses its connection to the server.
-
Open the console prompt with Administrator privilege and change the directory to the Deep Security Agent install directory, as follows:
-
On Windows, this is typically
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Deep Security Agent
. -
On macOS, this is typically
/Library/Application Support/com.trendmicro.DSAgent
.
-
-
Copy dsa_control --autoDetectOSProxy 1, paste it on the console, and run it.
When using this method, you must remember that if the Allow agents to apply OS proxy when the configured proxy is inaccessible option on the server console is set to No, the OS proxy will be disabled after the server deploys any policy.
Configuration on agent side
Once the OS proxy is enabled, configure the proxy settings within the operating system. Refer to your OS documentation for instructions on how to configure the proxy settings.
Troubleshooting
If errors have occurred, check the following to see if:
- The option on the server console is enabled.
- Any policy is successfully deployed to the agent.
- The agent is activated.
- The proxy setting is properly configured in Network and Internet on the control panel.
- The automatic configuration script is set. If it is set, check to see if the script works.
- If the agent can connect to the server without using the OS proxy, OS proxy settings are not needed and will not be applied.
- If the proxy has been set from the Trend Cloud One - Endpoint & Workload Security console, configuring the OS proxy cannot take effect because proxy settings configured from the console have a higher priority than OS proxy settings.
